Organisierte Schlamperei

Sloppiness organized
The common agricultural policy of the European community, historical
is controversial the a side of the compromise between French and
German interests, for a long time. She gets synonymous to one for
a potentially fatal sloppiness now. The daily reports about the
Mad Cow Disease BSE and import bans read himself, about the injury
of hygiene and safety regulations like reports from the front in
the meantime. It reports, this one are let the appetite pass, for
one which makes the consumers uncertain and, after and after, almost
expose the look on one mafioses system. This system cares little
about precautions and health for this around so more Agroindustrie
operating train oil nationally around the interests of one which
plays with the European institutions Katz and mouse and makes use
of her. Of course brussels doesn't take the responsibility for the
distribution of the Mad Cow Disease alone. In the interest of the
own beef export to deny the infection the BSE risk to minimize and
the danger with the Creutzfeldt-Jakob illness this one will whom
for himself locate the organized chumminess particularly correctly
in the EU countries, reminded of the methods of earlier British
governments appearing criminal virtually and confirmed in the meantime
officially. In British slaughter-houses there were disastrous conditions
few years ago and the politics had to stop little to this. She reacted
first when the consumers turned out in panic and the meat market
caved in everywhere. These sloppinesses, the Schiebereien and by
the state muted "carelessnesses" at the retention of the corresponding
regulations in European countries must have an end. And an end also
must have the Verfütterung of animal flour won from carcasses because
it is at the beginning of the assignment chain of the Mad Cow Disease.
Time becomes that brussels and the authorities take her responsibility
for the consumers seriously and don't leave it at half-heartednesses
in the member countries of the EU, if they feel the strict breath
of the lobbyists. Nobody needs to be surprised that import bans,
controls and national boycott calls make holes in the "common" agricultural
policy already now. She starts to oppose her professional expensive.

Shady Dealings
The European Union's Common Agricultural Policy, historically
one aspect of a compromise between French and German interests,
has long been controversial. Now, it is also becoming a synonym
for potentially lethal slipshod dealings. Meanwhile, the daily reports
about the BSE cattle epidemic and import bans, about breaches of
hygiene and safety regulations, read like dispatches from the front.
They spoil your appetite, make consumers feel insecure and, little
by little, uncover an almost Mafia-like system. That system cares
little about precautions and health, but all the more about the
interests of a transnational farming industry that plays cat and
mouse with European institutions and takes advantage of them. Of
course, Brussels does not bear sole responsibility for the spread
of BSE. Anyone who recalls the almost criminal practices of former
British governments -- now officially confirmed -- such as trivializing
the risk of BSE and denying the human risk, and doing so in the
interest of its own beef exports, will have no difficulty in identifying
the organized back-scratching that goes on, especially in EU countries.
Conditions in British slaughterhouses a few years ago were disastrous;
yet politicians found little fault with them. They reacted only
when consumers started to panic and meat markets everywhere collapsed.
An end must be put to this slipshod approach, to shady deals and
officially covered-up "negligence" in complying with the regulations
in force in European countries. And there must be a stop to the
feeding of animals with meal made from animal remains because that
is the beginning of the BSE chain. It is time for Brussels and for
authorities in the EU member-states to take their responsibility
toward consumers seriously and not to be satisfied with half-hearted
measures as soon as lobbyists start breathing down their necks.
Even now, no one need be surprised that the "Common" Agricultural
Policy is being riddled with import bans, controls and calls for
national boycotts. It is starting to turn on those who profit from
it.
